Manga Review; A Sign of Affection
“Let me into your world, Yuki”
I absolutely adore this shojo romance manga with disability representation by suu Morishita! Yuki is a deaf college student who falls for the dreamy world traveling and multilingual Itsuomi Nagi.

Yuki, the Deaf protagonist of A Sign of Affection manga series

Itsuomi, a world traveler, multilingual and total green flag babe
Yuki’s inner world is depicted so carefully with her thoughts and feelings towards Itsuomi, leaving the reader with a rush of what it’s like to fall in love for the first time. Each blush, misinterpreted gesture and intense stare (cough, Itsuomi) ensures the reader knows exactly what these characters are feeling.
Itsuomi shares the big, wide world he travels with Yuki, as she teaches him how to sign. But why is he learning sign language? Is it for his love of languages and exploring new worlds? Or does he genuinely have feelings for Yuki?

Aren’t they just so adorable? :3
As someone with a disability who struggles to communicate my inner thoughts with my outer world, I found this manga truly relatable. I might not be deaf, but I can definitely empathise and feel Yuki’s struggles to communicate with Itsuomi. Not only that, but I love seeing disability representation in my favourite form of storytelling…manga! And I want more!
Make sure to read this incredible manga before watching the anime! Which I will also be reviewing, heh :3

Stay tuned for my anime review on this series next!
